.IT Domain Name Registrations

Established in 1987, Italy’s dot IT country-specific top-level domain name extension is really popular both locally and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for building imaginative and interesting domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to have an easy-to-memorize domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to return to your website or to share it with coworkers and acquaintances. The domain name extension can also be used for a website, which is connected to the information sector given the fact that IT is an abbreviation, which is well-known around the world.

Bearing in mind that .IT domains are not provided directly by IT-NIC, the Registry that handles this top-level extension, such a domain can be registered through a 3rd-party provider, such as ours. We will handle the registration process for you and take care of submitting your application to the Registry organization. You can get a .IT domain for one year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to our firm and we will renew it when the transfer has been finalized. The only restriction is that the person reserving such a domain must be located in a country from the EU.

Since there are existing Second-Level Domains that include names of different areas and localities in Italy reserved for local 3rd-level registrations, new names that include geographical regions of any sort are not permitted on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not offer such third-level domains, though, as they can be registered only by locals.
